So Smitty, here's what you do when you buy a "What A Knife" with a broken tip. You turn it into a Wharncliff!Papa Bones wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 11:40 pm Received this one today. Another addition to my Camillus Steelies. A Camillus "WHAT-A-KNIFE" single blade with a caplifter / screwdriver secondary. Like new, excellent snap and half-stops on both blades. Not sure of the pattern number, but it is the same design and pattern as the Camillus 326 "DURA-TOOL" which I already have in my collection.

Arriving today, very quickly shipped by Kennedy Knives, 4 more of the Schrade Walden/Parker American Patriot set. I already had the red Nathan Hale. Now I have Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Patrick Henry. All minty; now I have all 5. They make for a nice set; were produced for the American Bi-Centinel.

Thanks very much Smitty! Mine was advertised as stag covers, and the etches on the blade read "ROUGH*AND*READY", and, "I Never Fail". The engraving on the bolsters are of 2 different faces, the one on the bottom bolster both sides looks like Alfred E. Newman from MAD magazine with fangs, and the one on the top bolster both sides looks like a Roman citizen with an olive wreath on his head. I think both were suppose to look like Romans. Sorry bout' the lousy pics, I couldn't stop the glare.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 4:38 amVery nice Marc.Madmarco wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 8:53 pm I had another very lucrative day at my mailbox when 3 more knives arrived! Does yours have the etching or engraving on the blade and bolster? If I remember correctly, there were a few versions of that same knife. Some with bone, some with Horn, some with stag. Some had engraved bolsters with etching on the blades, and some had Etched bolsters. I remember some had a decorative etching on the blade that said, "Don't Draw Me In Haste"

Thank you Marco. I was thinking the set would make a nice gift for a grade school boy or girl who was learning about the American Revolution and who some of the major patriots were. Buy now I am wondering if such things are still taught.

I think that's a great idea Garry, but of course it would mean you'd have to part with your set. I would think that they still teach history to the kids nowadays,Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 11:15 pm Thank you Marco. Nice one! I bought one as in recent years, the prices of the big Camillus-made Remington Scouts were getting out of hand. The half stops on all blades is something I've not seen before on a Scout. However, I don't recommend even trying to carry this knife without a belt sheath. It's that heavy and overbuilt.
I see SMKW has done a G-10 version under Marble's, and it's starting to see use as a Rough Ryder.

Probably won't get a lot of pocket time not because of it being rather hefty but because of the shackle, I don't do sheaths. This was a impulse buy ( I have too many of those by the way) it was 20 bucks with free shipping and I didn't have a 4.1/4 inch scout so I said what the heck.cody6268 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:36 amNice one!
