When I was a kid we would catch those guys in an old one gallon jar (along with horny toads, lizards, scorpions, and just about anything else that would fit through the mouth of the jar.

then I could have sat around all day in my room virtually high-jacking cars and shooting everything up insight man did I miss out I was forced outside and I had to ride my bike, or a horse or even hike on foot around the desert with my dogs and maybe even a pelt gun or a sling shot and a good 'ol USA made Case pocket knife in my blue jeans. In fact when I was about 10 years old I found a Puma lock-back folder on a desert trail right there in the dirt 
and I still have it to this day.

I remember the horny toads would sort of plat dead and you could turn them over in your hand and they had really soft bellies you could rub with your finger like little horned Buddhas... but i don't remember that ever brining me any luck.

Great story GSPTD! I too never felt the bite of the Play Station bug, and I'm a better man for it! My noodle is empty enough as it is without filling it with all that mindless thumb maneuvering!
think of all the space we need in our brains just to remember what year a certain tang stamp was or when this or that model came out... I ain't got that many brain cells left... 
I need all I can to keep up with what knife is what... The puuko knife is great! The Leek is my EDC. The Camillus 72 is a gift from Reverend and part of my rotation. The puuko comes along when I plan on going off trail like today.

My family reunion (father's side) is held in Elwood City, my maternal grandfather is from New Castle, and my maternal grandmother is from Volant. So Rt 79 and Rt 19 are very familiar to me. My mom, dad, and maternal grandparents moved to AZ about 3 years before I came along.
Thanks for volunteering for all those years! I was an Eagle Scout and my Scout Master was a great leader and teacher. My mother and father separated and my dad had almost NO time for me. The scoutmaster for our troop was a good role model and influence for me. I was also best friends with his son at that time (we both made Eagle Scout in the same ceremony). So I spent a lot of time around him and his family. Like you, in all the years I was associated with BSA I never saw any of the abuse or molestation you see in the news.
