61051 1/2 L Pattern. An old favorite of mine..

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Anyone else a fan of the 051 1/2 L pattern? You don't see them a lot, but the drop point was my EDC for a long time..

I have one and carried it for a while. Near mint and got it cheap on Ebay. Mine has a brass pin at the tip end of the butt - most pics I have seen of these do not have a pin in that location.

Increased my 051 1/2 collection....couldn't pass up for the price...and now because of my obsession I feel like I have to get a p1051 and a 21051 and a p10051

Great light knife. I think I have a couple left. Gifted an aluminum handled M1051 L SSP to a friend for his birth year and job type. Referred to as the "Trail packer" due to light weight as I recall.

Also called a Hornet. There are also some wood versions mistamped that I would have to look to confirm. All info is in Steve's book.

I believe I have a 76' and 77' wood handle examples still in my collection. I like the pattern myself.

I had one of the CASE single blade lockbacks, stainless with the metal handle. It was a Christmas present back in the mid 80’s from my parents when I was a kid.

I carried that thing for tears and loved it. Several years ago I was tying something in my pickup truck bed in the Walmart parking lot in Glasgow, KY and laid it on the side of the truck and drove off. I went back and drove the parking lot, even went in and asked about the most and found. But it was gone.

I need to get a replacement, but just never could bring myself to do it. I’ve never seen the wood handled one. Great little knives for sure.

It's one of the worst feelings in the world once it downs on you what you've done!
