jtx, those are great bones on the Cases. I love the yellow/amber areas at the bolsters and the jigging. Case should unretire that stuff. Beauties.

The largest Sharp knife in this group was one my Dad gave me back when I was in High School. I still have the leather sheath somewhere. It was hard-used and I had half sharpened away the blade before I was married.

I picked up the medium knife a few years back, then got the smallest one today at a Yard Sale.
I don't typically buy lockbacks, but these knives have some great Stainless blades, and I feel a bit nostalgic about them.

I am afraid that y'all will think I have been drinking, but yesterday I posted some Sharp knives and told about carrying one in a sheath. I had the right knife, but with the wrong memory.

I got out all my old knives to oil them up, and was surprised that I had another, larger Sharp sitting in the sheath.

My Dad had given me both of the two larger knives. The medium-sized one is the one I carried in High School and sharpened away a lot of the blade.
My Dad carried the larger one in a sheath for a few years, then gave it to me. I carried it for a while, but like him, decided it was too big for practical use.
Anyway, here are the pictures of my matching sets.

Then I found a small Sharp stockman that I got a couple of years ago, and had forgotten about, alongside yesterday's new purchase:

I can only imagine what my mind will be like in a few more years!

It will probably be a lot like your knives...a bit older, but still very sharp with plenty of mileage left on it!

It's pretty cool to have a knife/knives that were carried, used and then given to you by your father. When my dad finally got too old to hunt, he gave me all his old fixed blade hunting knives...all Buck knives of various sizes. Unfortunately, I kept them stored in a cabin I used to own which was broken into and burglarized about 15 years ago. Among other things, the burglar(s) stole all my knives (as well as two of my father's old hunting rifles and a pistol).

I had to rebuild my knife collection from scratch; but, no matter how many knives I acquire, none will ever truly replace the ones my father gave me.

And a fine pair it is, indeed...especially the smooth red bone 6207 (I'm kind of partial to the Mini Trappers). It never ceases to amaze me how small the 07 looks next to a full-size 54 Trapper. I guess I'm just so accustomed to the size of the Mini-T that I forget it actually is a "mini"!

Since we're talking about Mini Trappers...I recently picked up another 1st Issue 207WHSS with jigged green bone handle and serrated Wharncliffe secondary blade. Why? you may ask ummmmm ...because I'm a hopeless Mini-T addict, I suppose. Also because the new one has a serial number stamped on the bolster. (Is it possible to ever have too many of your favorite pattern? )

Man! I like those Paul! They are Sweeeeeeet! The silver pins & shield really pop on them dark colored bones! Great jigging, nice swedge & long pulls too! Outstanding! I love em! Wish I could find one of those! Can you tell me what the pattern is & the length of them? Not that I can remember it very long but I am curious to learn a little more about them. Very nice looking knives indeed! Congrats Buddy!

Tom, those are cut co era schrades so the pattern is 71083 3/4. They’re 2 3/4” long. The pattern number was later changed to 710 in the walden era and there were also old timer and uncle henry variants later on.
