Gerber mark 2
Have mk2 that is full size with all black handle and serrated blade s/n 002574. Makes no sense.

This s/n is for a 1966, not the correct style for that year. Any thoughts

It appears from your photos that the knife's blade shape, serrations, blade logo, and black handle are all consistent with 1978-79 production. Why that number? It's a "dunno".
