so I picked this up a few years back but even having a M.M. I haven't been able to find any info on the age, maker or value. Any info welcomed

Agree with Redryder. Looks more like engraving. Maybe, 'Montana Territory" abbreviated and someone's initials ? Pretty knife. J.O'.
