I know the age just pre-dates 1880 as it has been in the family since it was bought by a family members future wife and their pre wedding initials are inscribed on the knife and a fancy font. The over laid initials are ADC and SL at each end on the back of the nail file as this is the widest flat area.
It has another pair of initials which are K.H. with CAST STEEL in a half moon over the top of the K.H. this sits in the middle of the fancy initials.
As you can see it is a well crafted knife which although is used and has some damaged blades, it has a lot of blades as well as saw, scissors, clock winder, cork screw, needle, hook, nail file, tooth pick and tweezers / snuff spoon or ear spoon etc.
Although this is an old knife the blades are still razor sharp and I have never seen one with so many blades and most are differently shaped blades.
It does have a the end of one side of the tortoise shell damaged as it looks as if it had been dropped many years ago but adds to the history and charm.
As this was made before the so called Swiss Army knife it fascinates me and the history so wanted to find out more about who may have made it and what country it was made in.
