Qt that is a great score.
I was able to pickup a few knives at the US Hwy 127 yard sale event yesterday. A German made Marbles large Congress with imitation tortoise shell covers, a Camillus TL-29, and two Hen & Rooster large Congress with stag covers (one with the Tobacco Congress blade etch, the second is a Coon Hunter blade etch Congress). These don’t compare to your score QT but these fill in a few spaces in my stag collection.

Picked up an Imperial Midget Hunter because I’m easily amused. Now I can field dress mice without messing up the good meat!   ::rotflol::

My first order from caseknifeoutlet.com arrived today. Placed Wednesday night and shipped on Thursday, so only in transit for two days...I'm a happy camper! Got some nice ones, too.
08000 And 13638.jpg
A 6220 with Mediterranean blue bone and a spiffy diamond shield, plus a 10318 in red(dish-brown) G-10. Seems like the G-10 will be a favorite material.
08000s And 13638.jpg
I got two of the 10318s. The one on top is a carrier. Much to my surprise, they were made in 2008!
08000 Tang Stamps.jpg
08000 Box And Paperwork.jpg
And finally, something I did not expect when doing a search for "Peanut." Only $5, and at least one I must try!

Been fishin' in the shallow end of the bay again. The one I really want to get my hands on hasn't made it yet, a Robeson Granddaddy barlow.
These 4 came in the last few days:
001.JPG
From top to bottom, a Kabar 1026, factory edges but has stained blades, the black handled cattle knife is stamped on all 3 blade CLEARCUT over Geo. Worthington over CO, the old Queen is a #10 and the bottom knife is a Schrade 293Y, lazy main blade but a strong snap on the spay.
Not much invested, I'm tickled with the Queen and intrigued by the CLEARCUT/Geo. Worthington Co. This one needs a bit of research. ::nod::

Recently saw a 3 knife lot of rehandled knives on Ebay for $31 and thought I would give it a shot. Included are a long line Camillus converted to a single blade, A White Tail Cutlery in stag and a Moore Maker 5301 in some very excellent stag. All three very knicely done, not perfect but pocket worthy. And all 3 very sharp. Some mechanic's practice knives probably. I think a steal at $10 a knife. 30 30 Cartridge shields and the mechanic could probably use some practice on the main pins. Thanks for looking.

"Steal" is right...the only way that deal could have been any better is if the seller had actually paid you to take them. ::woot::

Stag on the MM alone is worth the price you paid for all three (and even that would've been a steal, IMO).

Congrats on an amazing score, Floyd...very likely the Deal of the Century. ::nod::

Nice pick-ups, Floyd. I think you did well for the money.

I also have some knives that spent some time with a mechanic: Herbva. The first is the Schrade pen, whose exact model number I am still trying to pin down, that I recently received from Roland (Kootenay Joe). I thought the celluloid covers were outgassing, but Herb said that under a 10X loupe, they showed absolutely no evidence of it. All it needed was removal of pitting and a little polishing.
Schrade Pen Closed.jpg
Schrade Pen Open.jpg
Herb also included one of his early rebuilds as a bonus. He said this Camillus 27 had a broken screwdriver blade. It was converted to a single blade and treated to some nice bone covers.
Camillus 27 Bone Closed.jpg
Camillus 27 Bone Pile.jpg
Camillus 27 Bone Mark.jpg
And finally, one I've been waiting way too long to show. I previously groused about this kinfe. Well, it's a bummer no more! Herb straightened everything out, put on a new bail (he said he'd never seen a bail mangled as badly as the original on this knife), and fitted it with sweet OD green Micarta covers. Now I can display and carry it with pride!

I highly recommended Herb's work and thank him profusely for these superb knives!

Some mighty fine looking knives posted today by Floyd, Dan and Jerry! ::tu::
My contribution for Mail Call today is a big old Robeson Granddaddy Barlow. I believe this one can be recognized as a HOK. The bolsters apparently have been used as a hammer and it has been personalized by B W A. Most of the blade lenght is still there and It will bite you if your fingers or thumb are in the way as it goes into the well! The tang stamp is the '40-'64, all block letters ROBESON/SHUREDGE/U.S.A., pattern #512224.

I haven't posted here for awhile because I've been re-evaluating my buying situation, and found myself ordering far fewer pieces than I had been, and, you guys post so many beautiful knives that I find it hard keeping up with all your posts. But, I received a couple of nice one's today and have a few more on the way, so I'll be able to participate more. I had become somewhat discouraged with sitting on pins n' needles and worrying if my packages would get through Customs, as well as suffering the seizures, so I came up with a new plan. There's an online store here in Canada that has many, many models in stock, and, some with A/O that they already had before Customs went nuts on folding knives, so I'm concentrating on purchases from them as opposed to Ebay and other foreign stores where the packages need to pass Customs. I've found that after currency exchange and distant shipping the CDN prices I need to pay are very similar to what I'd have paid had I ordered from out of country. This is not to say I'll never buy from out of country again, I'm simply going to be much more selective than I had been. I also made 2 new connections to buy autos from, with one really beautiful model on the way, so it seems I'm back in the driver's seat. These 2 today are both from Lionsteel and are made in Maniago, Italy and are models I've wanted for sometime. The 1st is the 7" oal "Thrill" slip-joint/M390 drop-point blade, textured black aluminum covers, adjustable pivot, and a very cool pocket-clip deployment. In order for the clip to be deployed you must depress the shield on the mark side down by the butt-end, and the spring loaded clip will pop-up on the pile side.(See 3rd pic!) When you release the shield the clip drops-down flush into the cover again. Cool, huh! The 2nd piece is the very first L/S knife I'd come across, and was instantly attracted to it's simple design. It's a 6 3/4" oal "Bestman" model/M390 drop-point blade, Titanium bolsters and liners, adjustable pivot, and carbon fiber covers. These were not inexpensive knives, running me CDN$200./delivered a piece, but they fall in line with my new policy of "quality over quantity! 8)

Wow, nice knives Mark! I have been wanting to check out the Thrill but haven’t done so yet. The retractable pocket clip is genius. I like that it retracts as soon as you pull the knife from your pocket. Completely eliminates the annoyance of the pocket clip ruining the ergonomics of the handle. Yet it’s always there when you need it. Brilliant!

I have a couple of the two blade Bestmans and they are outstanding knives. By the way, the bolsters and liners are both Titanium on the Bestman models.

Great scores all around!

Cooter Brown,
You may be on to something, the shield on the knife appears to be a "composition" Case oval shield according to the book. ::hmm::
