Some knives I know nothing about
First time posting. I received a number of knives from my late father, some are pretty cool. I thought I would post a few pictures to see if some of you knew what they are. Thanks in advance.

Re: Some knives I know nothing about
Welcome to AAPK. Nice looking knives, especially precious because they were your father’s. What I can tell you about them is pretty obvious but it is what it is. The manufacturer is Western, which has made knives since the early part of the 20th century. I’m guessing the blades are stainless steel. The handle covers are probably brass, what are known as metal art or sometimes called figural handles. Here’s an older thread with some examples viewtopic.php?f=2&t=71520
I think the knife was probably made in the last 30-40 years but someone who knows more about Western cutlery may know a more specific timeframe for that stamp. The question you didn’t ask but most do - it’s not a highly valuable knife. Some folks collect Western knives and some collect art knives so there is a market for them. Hope that answers your questions.

Thanks for your feedback
Here are a couple more. I like them particularly because they seem to be made out of bone with ship drawings.

Again, the maker is stamped on the tang of the knives. Artwork on bone is typically called scrimshaw. Originally done painstakingly by hand but now typically mass produced by laser. Yours are the latter.

Chriswilliams, your father had an eye for good-looking knives. I like the scrimshaw knives especially. I hope they bring you joy and good memories every time that you look at them!
