Remington R100B Questiion

This 3 1/4 inch bone knife has a crest sheild, yet has a punch blade. I thought all punch blade Remingtons had acorn sheilds?? What does the B stand for following the pattern #? Any help from Remington collectors is appreciated. Tnx Ron

RemingtonCollector will know better, but I think that the R100B being a mass produced low price "loss leader" type pattern for Remington, may have been exempt from the "Acorn with punch" general rule. I dont know what the B stands for.

Not all punch blade Remingtons had an acorn sheild, there are at least 10 different patterns that have a punch blade but no acorn shield. Although if you have a Remington with an acorn shield it should have a punch blade. The B does stand for the punch blade opposed to the 105 A which has a pen blade instead. You'll find the same holds true for the 100A and 100B. Some of these came from the factory with a blade etch that reads " Remington Standard Dollar Knife"

Thanks for the info gentlemen..... You answered my question. All my other acorn knives do have punch blades (just have three). Now I have gained a little more knowledge on the Remingtons
