Nice pick-ups from all! I have a trio of new ones; photos will be added later today (hopefully after I get at least one cleaned up some).

That is cool Mark. I like that. Is the bolster hard to move? There was a knife that had a patented bolster lock and release made back in the 70’s and that bolster was so damn hard to move I nearly sliced my thumb off after bruising my thumb badly on it. Any others I’ve come across have been difficult as well.

I picked up a couple as well. The first is an A.G. Russell lockback made by Master Tak Fukuta. Desert Ironwood handles with ATS-34 blade.
The second one is a Moki designed by Bill Ruple. Red stag handles with VG-10 blade. 1 of 125 made for Old School Knife Works. 3 other handle materials offered are natural stag, bourbon bone and mahogany bone. More info under the High End Japanese Knives Forum.

Thanks Mark. To answer your question, YES, the bolster is VERY hard to move! Had I known how difficult it is I'd have never bought the knife, but of course in the videos they make it look 1-handed silky-smooth opening, when in reality it takes both hands gripping the knife and a very firm push on the bolster to make it disengage with it's locking pin. It was an inexpensive knife, but even with that I'd have not bought it had I known about this. Your 2 most recent acquisitions are gorgeous knives, specially the Moki, they'll both look teriffic in your collection!

On the other end of the spectrum, I just snagged this Cattleman's Cutlery off eBay. I just liked the handles and it was CHEAP.

I got another unusual folder in today guys, and once I figured out how to operate it properly it became a ton of fun to play with! It's a CRKT Compact 2 Kommer Fulcrum-Release linerlock that is 6 1/2" oal/black-coated SS drop-point blade, SS cross-cut bolsters, translucent blue and white ABS covers, screw construction, and a pocket-clip. You must press forward on the front cover in order for the blade to be released from the channel by about 25%, and then pull back on the same cover to flip the blade up and open into the locking position. To release you simply push on the single-liner until the blade is free. I've included some pics trying to show what I'm talking about. I thought I might have Customs problems due to this being a 1-handed opening knife, but I'd bet that Customs couldn't even figure out how to operate it! 8)WIN_20 Cool, huh!

Very very cool. Good looker too. What's even cooler is you snuck it by Customs without confiscation. YES! Score one for the delivery right under their noses!!!!

Wow what a gorgeous set of antlers that one has. Cool knife all around really. Kudos to you for finding and scoring. Touchdown and two point conversion!

Thanks Iman. It sure did feel like a score when I found it in the box. CRKT discontinued a really nice stiletto model that had the sliding-lock system, and they've discontinued this model as well, which I think is a shame, but it's their knife. I guess not enough dollars and cents at inventory time!

I have purchased a number of knives from Jeffin at secondlifeknives.com and have to share this one. Just a 5 inch fish knife with no tang stamp but what Jeff did to it made it awesome. The bone handle and file work is beautiful to me. Been greatly satisfied with all the knives I have purchased from Jeff but this one is outstanding.

Beautiful little folder Nick. That style knife with the fish-scaler was the very 1st knife I ever owned, and it served me very well for years! Kudos to Jeffin on another great resto!

This post happened a little later than I wanted, but not horribly so. I got these three Old Timers on Friday. After initially being unimpressed, I gave the 100th Anniversary 34OT a much-needed cleaning. Warm water, Dawn, and some fresh oil have it looking, walking, and talking better. The 108OT still needs some work, what with all the spots and pitting, and the other 34OT will get cleaned soon. These will join the carry rotation as I acquire nicer examples....the 100th Anniversary 34OT is, in fact, in my pocket as I type.
