Check out this Case XX USA Muskrat...

I picked this Case XX USA today and noticed the Muskrat is smaller than any I have ever saw and both thye Case XX USA and Muskrat can be seen on the same side. Is this common in the USA era? Are the handles on this Muskrat RedBone or 2nd cut RedBone? I also have a picture of a CASE XX 06263 Stainless it has Case XX Stainless on both blades.

I'd say that muskrat is worm grooved reddish bone on the pile side. I could be wrong though.

I would not consider that as Red bone.(reason) Redbone is CHERRY RED all the way through,end to end.IMHO

Some consider the Muskrat red-ISH bone. It is a typical variation on U.S.A. era knives (before dots). Others call it "pretty bone", because of the light to dark variations. It's not worm groove though; just typical Case Jigging. Nice knife. How long is it, Martys?

It is 3 7/8" this was the first one I had ever saw with the tangs stamped on the same side.

Case Muskrats are built on the 6347 frame, which is 3 7/8", so your knife is standard length, IMO.
There are lots of variations. Blades can be from different years, one a U.S.A. and one a 10 dot for instance.
I've seen that MUSKRAT stamp before on that side, but I don't collect them, so don't know all the variations.

In the research I have done in the past few days since the first post I have found it typical for the tang stamps to be like this on the USA variations of the Muskrat.
