Iron bolsters, no England, my guess would be 1800's but wouldn't have a clue beyond that.____Dave

How long is it?

If I remember correctly they said 1840s. Any idea on value? I need to get some insurance values for a collection. Thanks!

It is my understanding with a stovepipe kick would mean middle 1800s or before.

I've owned a few of these and I think this would be from the mid 19th century anywhere from 1850. to 1880 give or take 10 years. I did have one with a sailors service number scratched or burnt on it and the British ordnance /|\, research showed he was in the British Royal Navy around 1870 but only for one year.
This a nice example, I think I read somewhere the Navy made them point less to make it less likely to be used in a rum drive rage as a stabbing weapon, still cut your throat though, don't know how much truth in that storey.
Any ordnance marks on there?
