Mike that’s the old Elgin that belonged to my dad’s father. It’s nothing fancy, but a neat old piece nonetheless.Meridian_Mike wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 11:23 am Very accurate portrayal Colonel.
I see you have a watch chain hanging from your vest.....

COOL....
Elgins are my first love. I have a few that would go back to the Civil War period.
And a couple of Walthams that would go back that far.
All key winders.

This is the only one I have, and I don’t know enough about them to seriously pursue them. This one needs to be serviced. It’ll run, then hang up. I gotta get it slicked up.

Hope I’m not butting in, but I can’t resist pocket watches. I have 27 American railroad watches from most the major manufacturers, but my usual EDC is a non-railroad grade Elgin model 616 that my Granddad bought new.

Such a cool hobby Willie; I'd be a happy pig in mud, wrenching on steamers (especially post-WWII loco's).
And I absolutely dig pocket watches!
Only have 1 in the hoard so far (new one my Dad gifted me).
Hoping to eventually take the dive into watch collecting; just the buggie can't handle it right now.

Don't take this for gospel Mike but I think they can be moved. It's not like there's a boat load of them. Just ask a Mod to do it. And they could rub out your posts and mine discussing the movement while they're at it. It would be like it never happened.

Good for you, Scott.
I lost 55lbs. I started eating carnivore once a day and ditched the carbohydrates. The weight fell off me.
It feels so good to be small; like I'm supposed to be.

Very healthy Scott. Congratulations. Once you lose that next 20 lb, the trick is to keep it off. I wish you good luck and stick-to-itness.
