That was a nice little Civil War/Virginia history lesson, Tom.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
It's why I've moved on more to Cases and Bucks, retiring all but the most common (or my most beat up) USA Schrades. Used to be, $15-20 would buy you a halfway decent user 34OT, $25-30 would buy you the 8OT. Now you're lucky if you get one at that price that ain't worn down to a stub, or has a broken/arced blade.garddogg56 wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 9:06 pm I-Man I don’t dare carry old Schrades there getting hard to replacelove that Case canoe

Giving this Imperial some pocket time for the next couple of days. Just got it in today from TrippleF. A pre 1952 Tank stamp 3-3/4" Stockman. Strong snap, tight composite handles, and still has some of the original luster.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
G-dogg I know what you mean, but wouldn't have got them unless the price was right and the ability to use and experience weren't in the mix. Do NOT like to buy a knife I can't use and enjoy. Gotta have some fun with them and get the feel of each one individually. That satisfies like nothing else.
This Jeffin redone Schrade USA 33OT just came in from Jeffins Second Life Knives. He stopped selling on AAPK but has his own website now-a-days. Check him out, the price is right. And every time I get one I am blown away by the re-assembly job Jeff does and the beautiful bones he puts on them that put the old Delrin to shame. And just the knife itself is a dream to me and so smooth, sweet, as it ought to be and with fabulous colors and looks and great grip on the wormgroove. Looooooooooove Jeffin knives.

It's a good thing they were built to last until someone could put bone on 'em. I reckon I like Jeffin's knives as much as you do, especially his Schrades.Ivoryman wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 10:08 pm G-dogg I know what you mean, but wouldn't have got them unless the price was right and the ability to use and experience weren't in the mix.
