Re: Antique Knives Made In England
Thanks all.
Millers Bros., that's a fine example and a near twin to the Renshaw.

Re: Antique Knives Made In England
That's a hard act to follow with this used "Real Lambsfoot" but here it is.
J. Nowill & Sons, Sheffield. This knife is 4 3/16" closed.
This seems like an early style of jigging.
There is a interesting history in Tweedale's Directory.

Re: Antique Knives Made In England
Same blade, different maker. MALEHAM & YEOMANS, Sheffield. Rosewood, well used but snaps like a gator. J.O'.
Re: Antique Knives Made In England
Nice one Joe, really nice bone on it!! J O it’s remarkable on the old English knives how they have been used so much over the years and still have the snap that they have. Beautiful rosewood handles and rare maker on the lambsfoot

Very nice J.Nowill lambsfoot, Joe.
I like the jigging, kind of like the checkering on some old ebony handles.

Re: Antique Knives Made In England
Thanks all. It's amazing how the stamps on the blades look like they were struck with the same die. J.O'.
Re: Antique Knives Made In England
Thank you, Bill and Dan.
J. O'., the stamp on my knife is "Sans Serif" as opposed to yours which has the "extending features", as Wikipedia calls them.
Very nice old knife, yours, with great skins.

Maybe a couple pen knives but nothing as spectacular as you all are showing, but it’s great eye candy here .
