I would agree. All my knives with extra numbers were "limited" or part of a series. Nice one. ::tu:: J.O'.

This from knifedb.com:
1979 6165 SAB DR Knife ID: 32596
Folding hunter with brown jigged pakkkawood handles and a single oval "CASE" block letter shield. This is part of a five knife set. The only distinguishing feature of the set members is a regular serial number above the tang.
The example knife shown has a four digit serial number in the same location as your knife.

In 1979 Case released the "Starter Set" as a run of 15,000 sets. They took six standard patterns that were then serial numbered and put in a wooden "Collector's Case" display box.

6165 SAB DR Pakkawood

06247 PEN Bone

6344 Sh Sp Delrin

SR6225 1/2 Smooth Red Bone

63027 Delrin

2138 Smooth Black Sodbuster

It is common to see these sets broken up. Your knife came from one of these sets.
