A few of my favorite fixed blades

Post by Absintheur »

My knife "collecting" is sort of all over the place. I don't collect a specific type or pattern tho I do have a thing for fighters. Here are a few of my favorite fixed blades...

First up...an older EK Commando. These were a copy of the Australian Commando of WWII

Next is my set of EK Desert Storm knives.

One of my favorite all time fixed blades is this older AG Russell fighter.

Now we have a couple of custom fighters. The one on the left is a Morris made from a Nicholson file. The one on the right is an O'Neill.

And I do own some hunting fixed blades as well. On the left is a Gerber Flayer, I have the original sheath with sharpening steel with it. On the right is a Marble Expert I found in the bottom of a garage sale tackle box. It was a rusty blade sans handle and had a broken tip. I re-profiles the tip and made a cholla handle for it.

I bought this Helle simply because I liked the looks but it is a very useful size, makes for a good EDC fixed blade.

And last what collection is complete with a few Moras, these are Frost's out of Sweden. I have given away a bunch of these.

These are a few of the fixed blades I have gather over the years.

That custom Morris really looks like a brute!...something about straight lines that make it look really tough.

Thanks for sharing.

I really like the Morris, it is thick enough to deal with abuse like batoning and the tip has enough belly to be used as a skinner. The handles are black Micarta and it is a simple buleing for the patina. The sheath...also made by Morris... is a piece of work as well, made from at least 8oz leather it is very stout.

Morris sheath...
