Early WR case upside down shield?

Early WR case upside down shield?

This is now the 2nd case knife in this era I have seen with the shield flipped. Does anyone know why? The one in the roll is mine an I always thought it was a mistake. Then I seen this one on eBay an it made me think maybe it’s not a mistake. Sorry for my picture I’m at work an don’t have my knives with me or I would send Better pictures

It happens. Most are factory errors. A few are fakes - you have to “read the knife” to tell.
