With the policies of the current administration it's going to get worse.

My research tells me it's not a gasoline shortage per se, it's the lack of drivers for the tanker trucks. There's a shortage of drivers, not gasoline. I guess in the end though, it's still ends up being a shortage as there might be less fuel being delivered around the country in a timely manner.

::shrug:: Most people don't want to go off of unemployment, not enough incentive, end the extened unemployment payments and force them back to work or let them starve. Also end the free food giveaways to the ones who don't need it. It amazes me that the people picking up free food have such nice new cars!

That's it exactly. We have so much trouble keeping people at my workplace that my employer offers incremental cash bonuses to new hires. They get a bonus if they stay here 30 days, then another one at 60 days, etc. We still have a huge turnover despite that. Nobody wants to work.

It's pretty common for a new hire to disappear after lunch on their first day never to be seen again. Happens all the time.

Well, they stopped the pipeline, laid off workers in the petroleum business, increased gas tax and now locally the price is up $1.00 per gallon from last year. I feared it would be $4.00 by Memorial Day. You get what you vote for. ::skeptic::

You sure do get what you vote for!!!

Anyone remember when we elected a POTUS with interests in West Texas Oil and a VP with interests in Halliburton and military contractors?

Gas went to over $4 a gallon and we got into a Mideast military quagmire to the tune of trillions of dollars and thousands of American lives.

Me too! My son's school was giving out free food and all the new trucks and cars were lined up off the highway to get the junk. We went once and my boy wouldn't eat it but I did. We didn't go to any more of the food giveaways

When President George W. left office gas was $1.89 per gallon. When the Kenyan left office gas was over $3.00.
And under Creepy Joe it will go even higher.

Yeah - I know accuracy and truth are not popular around here but that is simply not accurate. Gas prices went from about $1 when W took office and climbed to hit an all time high under W and fell when the unregulated mortgage crisis hit. By the time POTUS Obama left office they were in the $2 range.

I filled my truck's gas tank last week with gas costing $2.55 at the least expensive station in the area. Yesterday I filled up there again and the gas had jumped to $2.79. That's a 24 cent increase in seven days. Many of the other stations are ten to fifteen cents per gallon higher.

Last Friday, a cyber attack using ransomware hit Colonial Pipeline. This company ships 45% of the oil based fuel products to the east coast. Last I heard they were still shut down. Georgia and Tennessee were affected first and the lack of fuels will domino up through the Carolinas to New York.

I heard about that too, and that we should keep topping off our tanks until this is resolved. Something like 18 states affected. Who was asleep in cyber security land??? Weren't we alerted years ago about the possibility of this happening??? ::cuss:: ::censored::

Actual data in the reports is lacking, but it appears that the hackers went through the "3rd party cloud" account for Colonial that they have been using for their "work from home" employees.

I heard on the news today that cyber attacks like this have been on the rise for a while and are only expected to increase in the future.

With this weak administration we can expect more attacks like these.
From what I'm hearing from different news sources, Putin may not have been behind it, but he knows about these types of attacks coming out of Russia.

There are a number of global actors who benefit from higher oil prices, and capable of executing such attacks. It can be expected that they will be testing the JoeBama administration to see what they can get away with. The same actors are the only beneficiaries of shutting down the Keystone Pipeline project, so the clear signal from this administration was sent on the first day. ::disgust::
