Nice Oppie Garry. ::tu:: I've often wondered about those knives since they're so basic looking, simple but highly effective I'll bet. Good knives to have in a boat, because if you drop it overboard the wooden handles will keep it afloat, at least that's what you'd think...? ::shrug:: 8)

Great looking knife David. ::tu:: For the amount you pay for these Brother's knives you'd think they would be just O.K., but they go way beyond that and are extremely well-made. I have 6 models just waiting for me to pull the trigger on. 8)

Two beauteees.

GEC and a Schrade. Schrade sheep foot got the whittling duties and sharpened Ash branches to stick in the ground to hold up droopy bleeding hearts and peas and other stuff. Love the Schrade steel, holds a great edge and EZ to sharpen.

Marco, Over the years millions have discovered the exceptional cutting ability of Opinel knives. Fairly inexpensive, I think you would be very pleased with its performance as well as the effectiveness of its simple ring lock.

I LOVE those Brother knives and that carbon fiber lockback is a good looking one for sure.

Mahalo, David, for turning me onto them...never would've known about them if not for you. ::nod:: :D

I snapped up a bunch of the Wharncliffe Swayback 1508s (before they sold out) thinking I'd give some of them away...but...well...turns out, I like 'em too much, so I'm keeping them. What can I say? ::undecided:: (Last time I checked on Amazon, the Carbon Fiber 1508 was no longer available. ::hmm:: )

Thanks for that additional info Garry. ::handshake:: I knew there had to be a reason that I see these knives all over the place, and I guess that would be their cutting capabilities. The ring-lock has long intrigued me, I'll have to pick one up to see what it's all about, and, it'll be a model I don't currently own to add to my collection. 8)

Just wish I had a better answer for ya. It's one of the best used knives I have ever bought. An eBay find. Great snap, great F&F, long pull, swedge and one of those knives that just feels like it was custom fitted to your hand. Stamped only with the words Stainless Steel. ::shrug:: A no name..., but I really like it! ::nod::
