I bet he put up a valiant effort, though. Nice Copperhead, too.

Thanks again gentlemen!!!

Yes Dan, Ol' Trey gave chase at every opportunity and managed not to run head first into a tree trunk (which he has done in the past). For all his effort he still came up empty handed. He definitely got his exercise though!

Charlie, I missed commenting on your 4/20 post, a fixed blade. I'm liking the lines on that; a real beauty.

Ran into some teens on the trail today, they were initially apprehensive about Trey. Once they found that he was friendly Trey had some friends to romp with.
Here's the pic I shot today...

Charlie - that Buck Special is probably the number one knife that I have wanted for over fifty years. Just never go around to buying one ... something else always got my bucks. Great photo!

Very cool pairing of tradition and modern, Jtx.

Just getting home after a late night out, here's a pic from out walk today (actually yesterday now).

Thanks Mel!

It has been a great knife. I bought it in the '90s and have used it frequently. I have one that's mint in the collection as well. Have you seen the new Pro Series yet?

Thanks QS. I've used that particular stump/fallen tree on several occasions because it has such a twisted nature. It also lies at the edge of a very small clearing and tends to be shaded from direct sunlight so the light is kinda defuse. The knife is a Silver Stag up swept skinner pattern.

The blade has sort of a carbon-fiber look to it. Very cool! I assume the Muffinhead put up a heroic effort to bag himself a squirrel?

The blade is 1095 tool steel and all of their knives that I have seen, except those with Damascus steel blades, have that tooling pattern where they haven't been ground.

Muffinhead managed to catch a coat full of burrs on that walk. He chased something down through the brambles and reeds to the creek bank and came back covered in hitchhiker burrs. I never did see what he took off after, might have been a fox. We have a fair population of fox for a suburban area. Had one on the trail cam I set out occasionally trotting across my front porch about a week ago. Anyway, whatever he was chasing got away from him....at least he's consistent! ::rotflol::

I've always thought that nature is a fine artist, I just add a knife and take credit!

I have sometimes looked, really looked, at just one leaf and thought that if I could produce a piece of work as beautiful as that leaf, then I would be proud to claim the title artist!
