Well I couldn't wait for coffeecup's test results… But I did learn that Ulster and Case also made these Redcross Big mistake knives.

Well this old thread hasn’t seen any activity in too long . Was doing some research and stumbled on it .
Red dirt knives, been awhile since you posted here . Thanks for the info about Ulster and Case .
Just received a 4 line Camillus model #9511 wsteel liners .
Read the whole 4 pages here and not sure of the Rosewood / Ebony ,etc .etc. handles . Great Read and am looking further into this . Many of these I have seen have had the spoons cut off . This spoon survived and like Charlie or one of the other members said,I believe the spoon was coated or ? Originally. This one was rusty,but priced right and took a chance .
Any more recent info or feedback on the story,facts,rumors ,etc would be great .

Great clean up and save of an old beauty from the past. Looks great after you worked it over. Cool piece.

A little elbow grease as they say and some fine grit and oil . Got it for a third of what some auctions are trying to get ! Would like to see some from the other makers.

Yeah, I have a habit of sneaking around from time to time. Just finished reading this entire thread. What a great piece of history that makes this knife. I had never heard these called Red Cross knives or heard the stories about it, but I could see someone back then wanting to cut off the spoon to help in pocket carry. Again JP, very good looking knife.
