G.E.C. 1095 carbon steel blades
Does anyone know if the G.E.C. 1095 carbon steel blades are cryo treated like the old Western States & Western knife blades were? Does the blade hold an edge extra well after working them or do they need a touch up on the edge after a work out like some USA Old Timers and newer Case knifes do? Thanks in advance for any answers. I've been useing a model #73 for about a year now. After getting it shaving sharp, I've only had to touch up the edge 3 or 4 times. I haven't cut any calves or cleaned game with it, but just everyday use like opening mail, cutting up boxes, or cutting open plastic clampacks, it's held an edge very well. Just my $.02....

on their 1095 tubes it states frozen forged. i guess that means cryo. mine have had very good edge retention.
