From around the house and shop............
#1 I like to call,"Where's da worms???????"
#2 is called,"Where's Mama?"
The last ones don't really have a title. They were taken through the windshield of my wife's car while I was waiting for her to come out so we could go shopping. The thistle had somehow taken root in a vacant plant pot that was beside the house.I was going to remove it but had to find some gloves after grabbing it and discovering just how sharp the thorns were on the stem. For some reason my camera was in the car and when the bird buzzed by I grabbed it and took the pictures.

Yes, fine shots. I am surprised to see you already have fledgling robins.

That is a relief K7K. I was becoming irate with our local Robins who are just getting themselves organized. :)

Visited by a handsome Brown Thrasher today.

The male and female Cardinals have decided to raise a new family here. The male took a piece of suet and flew down to his mate on the ground then very gently placed the morsel in her beak. The placing of food is a ritual every year. I'd like to think this is the third year we have had this particular couple join us. If it is, they have a proclivity for raising daughters.

Had two Canadians in a neighbor's field, but only one would stay in the frame. Had to take these from my moving car.

HELP !!!

My neighbor sent me this photo asking if I could identify this bird. She said it has been frequenting her feeder. I've looked through my bird guide and could not find anything that came close to a match. I'm thinking it may be some mutant form. I think it's body, head, and beak look reminiscent of a red winged blackbird. (shot in the dark )

Any of you fine folks have any idea what it is ?

These are some Eagle Talons compared to a mans hand, you can see how they can do so much damage.

Phil: 1. I don't know. 2. I think your suggestion of a RW Blackbird is plausible based on the general conformation of the bird.

I had a House Finch turn up this afternoon. First time in two years.

Google tells me that this bird is leucistic, i.e. has leucism. Obviously not a true albino.
