22 Multi-Blade Graef & Schmidt MOP & leather case Age Value?

Post by melisavw »

I aquired this knife in a storage unit I bought at auction and I know absolutely nothing about it. It is a little over 3" closed. It has about 22 different blades and is marked Germany on one side of a blade and Graef & Scmidt on the other. The handle is mother of pearl and in beautiful condition. The blades are all bright shiny as if not used much. There is even a lead holder with lead in it. I'm just hoping someone can give me an approximate age and value of this multi blade knife. Thanks so much...

Here's a link to a previous thread which had a knife that is quite similar to yours.

I'm not sure how much help this is to you, but I thought it was interesting how similar the two knives looked.

Interesting knife. Marked with Germany so made 1891 or thereafter. Not much after based on the inclusion of a buttonhook. My best estimate 1891-1914... for what it's worth. Assuming the leather pouch is original, that further supports early 20th century. :D s-k

Levine's Guide suggests $25.00/blade on multi-blades like this. Pearl would add a little more. I suspect German manufacture would subtract some.
