Re: A Nest of Copperheads
I've only had a couple of the Mini-Copperheads. This one and I also had an Autumn Bone handle one but gave it to my Nephew. They are good knives for someone who likes a light knife in the pocket, but not one of my personal favorites.
I really don't agree with Case for naming it a Mini-Copperhead. When I think "Mini" of any knife, I think it should look like the original, only downsized. Like Mini-Trapper, Mini-Copperlock, Mini-Hunter, Mini Blackhorn, Mini-Moose. They all are the downsized shape of the original. As for the Mini-Copperhead, it is more serpentine than the Full sized Copperhead, the traditional Copperhead shaped bolster is on the opposite end (leftside) from the full size, and the blades are mounted on both ends. As my GrandPappy would say....."It just ain't right!!" I think they should have named it Tiny Rattler, or Small Cottonmouth. But.....I don't get paid the big bucks to name them. Just my .02 cents worth that ain't worth a dime.
But here is mine. A 2004 Case XX 62109X Redbone Script Shield Mini-Copperhead.

Smitty there is just any number of people (mostly purists) who think it's sacrilege that Camillus named the 72 "Carpenters & Whittlers Knife" because it's not a real Whittler. It's my opinion (and you know what those are like) that they - insert knife company's name here - made it so they can call it anything they want.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 2:04 pm

These are all beautiful knives!
I've tended to dismiss these old style folders as grandpa knives. I'm going to have to change my opinion on them. I'm going to add a few to my collection. They are impressive.

Thanks, Smitty. That old man of the group needed some TLC as someone did an amateur repair job to it. Our own herbva made it solid again.
