Today I received a Schrade Walden Marlin Spike from Ripster in a trade. I have another M/S, it's a Camillus. So with 2 M/S's and 2 grandsons who like pocket knives, I've got birthdays or Christmas covered. ::hmm:: ::nod::

Good looking Marlin Spike Rope knife. Your grandsons are going to like them I'm sure.

There have been many discussions about the certain handle materials used before Delrin. I've not found any certain dates or formulations, but that the first Delrin Plant wasn't built until 1960, and knife makers started using it for handles some time there after. But I am sure what handles were in stock were used to deplete inventory before using the new material. There was a material that was a combination of a vulcanized rubber & plasticized formula that was used. Some companies called it rough black, it has been mentioned that Case XX called it Plastag, Other companies called it Bonite.

There is a thread here viewtopic.php?t=47262 about that very subject.

Not back order, but pre-ordered for March delivery.
Any day now . . . . .
What pattern is it?

I've noticed that once they ship, stuff gets from there to here pretty quick. I think that all depends on the intermediary stops on the route from there to here. I may just be lucky on that route. LEBANON, MO - Springfield, MO - Kansas City MO - Chicago, IL - Palatine, IL - Rockford, IL.

I considered grabbing a picture off the SH web site and posting it but I didn't want to steal your thunder. That's a looker. You did well grasshopper.

And then this Robi Klaas. It's handles match another Klaas Stockman I have. This Trapper is a beefier knife than the Stockman is. And it has a "Getcha-Snap" and it's "Good-n-Sharp!" ::nod::

::hmm:: You got me! ::doh:: ::shrug:: Between 3 3/8 & 3 1/2 inches.

This is the mini trapper. They also make a longer version of these. I'll go look, be right back. ::tu::

OK I'm back. They make a larger one in 4 1/8 inches. Here is a picture of one. ::tu:: I find that it looks less "beefy" than the shorter one I have. I kinda like the "beefy" feeling mine has. Feels like a real work horse. ::nod::

It's been a while since I've added to the accumulation but today was the day. Small gunshow in Portland, PA, 100 tables five or take. Added a nice Western B & T sheath knife, post war I think, Model 48B in nice condition and the little pocketknife is a Challenge Cutlery Co, 3 3/8 in closed, great snap, no wiggle on both blades, and nice jigged bone. Pictures below.

Also scored some 32 ACP ammo and bullets and cases to reload. Been looking a while and very reasonably priced for today's world. Thanks for looking.

Here is another Robeson by Queen. My second sawcut bone. I like these RCC knives as well as any barlow I own. Queen did an incredible job on these.

Received this today. Only bought it because of the Wharncliffe blade (and the price was cheap). 3½" like a Mini-Trapper. Looks like a Copperhead on a bowling pin. It is colorful. :D
