Most interesting, and most definitely not off topic.
Who does not like anything out of a tool box or shed, especially old ones.

That is some good history, nice post.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:32 am When we travel back down to central Florida to visit family, we travel several different routes. We'll go down one way and return another way, that way we get to see and enjoy some back roads and some of the remaining old Florida. Our return trip from Christmas, Florida, brought us, naturally through Webster, FL to check out the flea market but it also took us up US 19&98. Near a place known as Gulf Hammock and a cross roads called Otter Creek there is an old lumber company steam locomotive on display. Here are some pictures of the Vulcan locomotive and a two sided placard given history and some detail of P&M #3.

These are the old Wallan yards, they were just north of Melbourne the capital city of Victoria. They were one of the main marshaling yards for trains, especially freight between Melbourne and Sydney the 2 biggest cities in Australia.

Here is a little Union Pacific activity from the Dupo, Il yards. This was formerly a Missouri Pacific yard before the UP takeover. I have included a photo I found of the old roundhouse there. It sat in the area just beyond my pic of loco 8703. A pretty interesting photo, showing a mix of diesel and steam.

Loram rail grinder train. Sitting on a spur off the main BNSF line. Pic was taken from the parking lot at work so it's not a good snap.

A steam train going through North Melbourne towards Spencer Street the main station in Melbourne, circa mid 1950's. North Melbourne was an inner suburb industrial area, and contained one of the main workshop and stabling yards for the Victorian Railways.

Re: Any Train Enthusiasts Out There?
This is a photo i found online, seeing your post about rail yards thought the rail enthusiasts here would find it very interesting. We all like seeing pics of old rail yards, they are a reminder of times past when things were a lot simpler and rail was more interesting. The photo is of the old Columbus-Ohio rail yards before they were ripped up. ::tu:
Unfortunately the picture cannot be enlarged for some reason, sorry about that, when i found it i could enlarge it, but cannot in this post.

I will be in St Louis area this weekend, they have yards for 5 of the 7 class 1 railroads in the U.S. I plan on getting some pictures to post, but if you don't hear from me, then you know that I got knocked in the head. Three or four of the yards are in rough areascudgee wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 1:27 amwe have less than 3 weeks to get another 7 pages and get it up to 25 pages, we may struggle, but we're still going okay.![]()
