Two Schrades I've not seen before Paul, both very nice! ::tu:: Love the handles on the folder! 8)
Cheers Marco , the folder is the 503 sure-lock it's very comfy in the hand and the button means it's easy to flick open and close , bottom one is a sharpfinger ::tu::
Thanks for the additional information Paul! ::handshake:: I see you're in the U.K., and that being the case are you not burdened with a bunch of ridiculous knife laws just like me here in Canada? ::shrug:: I ask because of your comment regarding "flicking" your knife open, and my understanding was that knives like that are prohibited over there, again, just like Canada. Of course, I still buy whatever I like, but am sure to not have a knife on me when I go out, so I simply enjoy my knives at home. Thanks, Mark! 8)
Mark the Schrade 503 isnt intended as a flick or gravity knife but is possible with holding down the button and a flick of the wrist , all the knives in the pic I use while in my shed, but daily edc knife is a slipjoint with a blade under 3inches , if you have good reason to carry a fixed blade or lock knife ie camping or needed as part of your job that's ok ::tu::

Thanks for that info Paul. Here in Canada, when attempting to import ANY knife, Customs x-ray's the package and if it contains a gun or a knife it's put to the side for secondary inspection. When doing said inspection they put it through a bunch of tests to see if it can be "flicked" open, and not only from the completely closed position. They are allowed to open the knife using 2 hands up to about 50% open, and then attempt to "flick" it open the rest of the way to the locked position. If they can accomplish this, they seize it as a "gravity" knife. The only knives that are NOT prohibited are true slip-joints and fixed blades. From what you've told me it sounds like you're well within your rights. The really silly part of all this is, that there is minimal knife crime in Canada, yet Customs is going after knives with a vengeance, and, there are many available knives that can be "flicked" open that are already here and being sold in stores everyday. Seems to me they'd accomplish far more if they applied the same strict standards to all the handguns and drugs that are flooding into the country and killing it's citizens, but I guess that would make too much sense! Sorry to vent, the entire situation just upsets me to no end! 8)
