Hello sir!beresman wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 1:53 am I've had a few arrivals I haven't posted on here, but I got two today that I particularly like and wanted to share. First is a little MOP pen knife by Joseph Rogers, I'm guessing between 1890 and 1901, based on the "Cutlers to Her Majesty" inscription. I haven't yet searched on the name (if that's what it is) "B C Auetin" carved into the scale on the pile side, but I think the handle is gorgeous.
Second is this KaBar. I thought the handles might be bone from the photos I saw, but they have an iridescence in person like a synthetic pearloid material. I like them but wonder if the knife has been re-handled. It doesn't matter to me if it has, I suppose, because I like it anyway.
One thing that puzzles me is what appears to be the letter "S" underneath the Olean NY stamp. Also another partial letter (in the photo it looks like an "R", but to my eye more like a "C"). Any ideas?
That JR pen ticks all the boxes for me. Beautiful pearl, on a pen knife of course.
Did a quick search, nothing came up. So I'm thinking, "B C Auetin" tis the original owners name, he got them, or a jeweler to engrave it for him.
Many gentlemen back in the day, did exactly that, have there name/initials engraved on there personal knife.
Wonderful knife either way.

Thanks! That makes good sense--I've certainly seen initials engraved on a silver- or gold-plated pen knife or fob, so why not?WillyCamaro wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 6:11 am

I’m not familiar with the brother brand of knife, but it’s sure a looker!
I posted this in the Case Collectors sub forum, but it belongs here too. 2021 vault knife, copperhead, amber bone, CV with great half stops.

I forgot to post this one the other day when it arrived. Another German made Marbles from the period of time when Jim Parker owned the Marbles name and Bulldog. This one has some beautiful white Micarta handles I couldn’t resist. And for some reason I really like bar shields. My Congress collection is really growing.

Oooh those are nice! I have a small stockman with the orange basket weave and I really like those scales. I also have a 6318 medium stockman with those same green scales. They’re very pretty imo. I like those mini trappers.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 11:52 pm These came today. Posted them in the Ode to the 07 thread but as you said Cuz, they belong here as well.
