Actually Mike, the prices haven't changed (yet). Auction's are up, but not nutty (yet). I was out to our local "The Big One" gunshow this morning. 1200 tables, MOBS of people, most with masks, some without. Most of the ammo dealers are not looking for customers, but are looking for victims.

Had I invested my retirement savings into ammunition rather than the stock market, I'd be a very wealthy man right now. It's crazy what ammo is costing now. By the way, read my signature line. Old Johnnie Fain knew what he was talking about.

And this is why I learned to roll my own many years ago. Saw the same thing happen during the tenure of the Clintons and when the big push for the Brady Bill was first starting out. If you roll your own, you better be stocking up on primers and powder. That will be next. Although a buddy of mine told me Small Rifle Primer was already getting harder to get.wv trapper wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 1:42 am I work one day a week at a local gun shop, we got in six cases of Federal 115 gr 9mm brass cases FMJ this morning, 16.99 a box of fifty. Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
I got my Uberti back today, it appears that everything has been taken care of. The work order sheet says that the firing pin was binding on the plunger. They stoned the firing pin and the plunger and test fired it. With it being more than 20 below zero here today, I have not shot it yet. But one can see that the problem it had is no longer there. When the hammer is cocked and let down on an empty chamber, the firing pin can be seen protruding as it would when it fires correctly. No problems with the way Uberti handled this, only a gripe with FEDEX. Uberti sent it back to me on Feb 10 by 2nd day air and it took 5 days to get here. Oh well, it is back and all is good.OLDE CUTLER wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 12:08 am There have been several posts and much discussion in this thread about Uberti single actions. I have had a Uberti Bisley for several years, and I really like it and it shoots great. Last summer I bought another one, a Single Action Army replica with 5 1/2" barrel. Both of mine are 357 caliber and I shoot cowboy shoot loads in them. Well the 2nd one started to have some issues after only 150 rounds and soon after that would not fire at all. My Bisley has the old model Colt action with fixed firing pin, and the SAA is the "New Model" with transfer bar safety system. The Uberti transfer bar system is like everybody elses in function to carry 6 rounds in the cylinder safely. But it differs in that instead of being visible from the outside of the gun like a Ruger and others, it functions by a rod that goes up thru a hole drilled vertically thru the hammer. When the hammer is cocked this rod is forced up behind the firing pin to lock the pin forward and the gun fires. Well mine quit working because something malfunctioned and the rod inside the hammer does not hold the firing pin forward. Uberti's have a 5 year warranty, so I went to Uberti's website and filled out a repair form and submitted it and they were all over it in no time. I got an email from them apologizing for the problem and sent a repair authorization number and even a PREPAID shipping label to send it to them via FEDEX. So I sent it off Friday and we will see how long it takes. It is now at the Benelli service center in Maryland. Looks to me like their customer service is top notch. I have sent other brands of guns in for factory service, but this is the first one where they prepaid the shipping. The FEDEX counter person said the shipping and extra insurance would have cost me $35-$40 if I had paid for it. Like I said, we will see how long they have it and I will will report when I get it back.

Glad they were able to take care of ya, OC.
Sweet lookin' pistol
Like you, waitin' for warmer weather before I'll go out to the range.
Range 14 at Joint Base MDL (formerly on Ft. Dix, the "D" of MDL) is all outdoor. *brrrr*
That's the only place I'll shoot - $30 membership, $10 for 2 hours.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some more ammo before headin' out.

Being an Italian made gun I am not sure what it is. Could be European Beechwood from the small darker streaks in it.

It’s a beautiful revolver for sure, and kudos to Uberti for the way they handled this!

My Uberti El Patron has walnut grips.
My guess would be the same on the Bisley.

I dont know what the wood is on the SAA. Neither the grain or color looks like walnut. I could go for a set of stag grips on it. Now if I can find some big enough pieces of stag-----------Steve Warden wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 2:10 am My Uberti El Patron has walnut grips.

I am proud of my Republican Governor Greg Gianforte, the state passed a constitutional carry law, in the house and senate with only 3 dissenters. Every state around us has CC. We as a state voted all red, and it is paying off.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
I assume that means you don’t have to have a permit to concealed carry? That’s awesome.
Here in Kentucky we have had CCDW permits (concealed carry deadly weapons) that covers firearms, knives, brass knucks, etc for years. During our last governor’s administration (Republican) the permit requirement for instate carry was done away with. We can concealed carry with no permit. We’ve always been able to do private gun sales with no background checks, and if you do have a CCDW you don’t have to do a background check at the gun shop, buy as many as you want and take em right home that day.
I still keep my permit up to date though so that I can carry in other states. Although, in my humble opinion, the only permit that should be required is the Second Amendment!

Here's my new pistol! Pietta 1851 Navy in .36 caliber. I got it at Cabelas for under $300. I've got powder, balls and a bullet mold so I'm set to shoot when it warms up. It's a 2020 build, so a new one since they switched to CNC machinery. I'm very impressed with the first and finish.
With all the silly gun stuff going on I've only been shooting black powder and it'll probably be that way for a while.
