Those are nice looking knives, Willy...are they Toledo Damascene (Spain), perhaps?
Thank you Q!
Umm, no sir;
They are of much more unique, and rare country of origin...

They big boy is a gift knives from a Swedish Cruise Line (Kungsholm Cruise). Made by "Emil Olsson" for them.
Other then that, I haven't a clue to either of them; Maker, and Liner.
Time to do a little research, me thinks.

Got mail on a Sunday again. I have to give kudos to USPS for this because tomorrow is a holiday and I would have had to wait 2 more days.

Brother 1503. Also known as the "Cowfish" although I have no idea why. I don't see anything about it that resembles a Cowfish. Great knife though. Especially for $40.

Nice Rick! ::tu:: I have a couple of models of Brother's on my "Wishlist" as I've been watching them for awhile now. Seem like well-built knives. And good on USPS for delivering on a Sunday! Congrats! 8)

Thank you, Mark. I hope you can snag one eventually. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one myself if I ever stumble upon another model that I think I'll use. I haven't seen a model yet that I don't like but so far this 1503 was the model I thought might get some use.

In my mind Rick, if a cowfish was a knife, it would be that 'un...
For some reason, which I can't put my finger on, that name is bang-on!

Looks like a mighty well put together knife, too bad I ditched my zon account, not!
Any other reputable outlets carry them? I would much rather buy from a small business, then another elitist conglomerate...

I did get mine from Amazon. Possibly the first time I've ever bought a knife from there. The only other place I could find one was Ali Express and the delivery date was April 13th. I didn't want to wait that long.

Rick! Just FYI, when you purchase something from Aliexpress and you see a long delivery date, it's very rare that it will take that long to arrive. I believe that due to covid slowing down logistics that the Ali sellers add extra time on to delivery dates just to protect themselves against having to issue refunds to customers claiming their package never arrived. For deliveries to Canada, many sellers have initiated policy of "Can't deliver to Canada", because so many people were applying for refunds when their packages took awhile to arrive, or, were seized by Customs. The tracking capabilities vary from good to poor, so many times the sellers don't really know what happened and are forced to issue refunds. Amazon is a great place to order from as their deliveries are always fast and fully trackable, and in my opinion, a much better place to order from, although, not nearly as many options as Ali or DHGate, but I just didn't want you to have the wrong impression about Ali in case you ever need to use them in a pinch. I have received 11 packages from there, and the usual time it has taken to arrive is about 30 days, but as you said, why wait 30 days when Amazon will deliver it in 3? Just thought you might wanna know! Mark! 8)

Thanks for that info, Mark. I did not know that. I honestly assumed that if anything, it would take even longer. This is good to know and I appreciate you sharing it.

It looks like it may have come out of the same factory as the Chinese AG Russells.

Picked this little Camillus Sword Brand 70 out of the bay recently. Seller had it for a super high price, I made a reasonable offer and to my surprise they accepted. More pics on the Camillus page.

Hey guys! Just received this little beauty, and it carries quite a history with it. It's a genuine prototype folder that was commissioned by Blackjack Knives, but never went into production. It came with paperwork from Jemmy Iwahara, the fella that Mark(SSk)deals with at Japanese Knife Direct that states the knife was hand-made, only a few were produced, and that's it's very rare. I included pics of the letter from Jemmy, although, you will need to click-on the pic and then click-on it again so it will magnify so you can read it. I was in negotiations with a fellow member to purchase their copy, but the deal fell through and I found this one on Ebay. There was also another copy on Ebay that has the official Blackjack logo and wording as the tang stamp and an asking price of US$1498., but my copy and the copy belonging to the fellow member have a tang stamp of "FLT-1", so I've emailed Jemmy to see if he can explain the differences. The knife is titled "Blackjack Donnybrook" and is an 8 3/8" oal linerlock/SS dagger blade with stud, NS bolsters, brass liners, and black ringed micarta covers. Of course this is just my opinion, but I would call this the perfect knife! 8)

EDIT: I got a reply to my email to Jemmy, and he said that he can't explain the different tang stamps but they didn't usually stamp their protos although he can't really remember from over 30 years ago, the protos were built by Mr. Noda whom I assume is/was a Japanese maker, and the value is whatever current collectors value would be. So, not a heck of a lot more info, but some anyway! 8)

The Motto of the USPS: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
Well, we have snow, and their not swift because our mail courier didn't make his appointed rounds today. That sort of ticks me off because I'm expecting a knife of course and a new SAK book. :x

Hang in there, David. It wasn't a holiday today and maybe he will still deliver it in the "gloom of night". We've gotten letters at 12:00 noon and packages as late as 7:30pm on the same day here. For some reason we have two USPS mailmen now. One for paper mail and one for packages.
