Re: Need Some Help with this Dagger
I don't think any German factory would let a knife out with such a poor solder job at the guard. I think it is machinist made rather than knife maker made, may be a "theater" or "home effort" knife. Theater knives are knives made onboard ships and land based troop machine shops during WW2 and home effort knives were made by stateside machinists and knife makers for the war effort. The US did not have GI military issue knives other than the WW1 trench knives early in WW2 and many folks made knives to give or sell to our soldiers. There were even "knife drives" where hunting knives were collected from the population to give to our boys shipping out to war.

Agree. All that knurling looks like a machinist had some spare time.

I am helping a Friend clean out his dad's basement and he gave me about 250 knifes for my help.
He does not want to deal with them.
What is this worth, is there a market for this knife....OldYooper.

There is a market for EVERYTHING!! Put it on the bay with a $9.99 starting bid and it will reach market value whatever it is. Try listing it under WW2 military knives. Got any mint antique KA-BAR hunting knives in the collection? I am always looking for certain models in fine condition.
