John Primble Question

Post by pak193 »

I purchased a small John Primble knife numbered 4927 with a star under the number. My question is what does the star stand for?

All john primble knives were built on contract for Belknap hardware wholesalers. John Primble was a brand name. I have two John Primble knives with a star on them. One is a small 4 blade congress with peachseed delrin handles obviously made by schrade. The other is a barlow that I suspect was made by Camillus, but I am not positive about it. John Primble knives are still being made for or by Blue Grass Cutlery the present owner of the name. Hope this helps ::shrug::

It is my understanding that the star identifies knives made by Boker USA on contract for the belknap hardware company.
