Smitty,Smitty Smitty , your on a roll as well, nice 72 clone . Sure is nice seeing you guys scoring some nice stuff . Seen your haul from the show down there as wellPapa Bones wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 9:57 pm This one came in the Mail Box today. another addition to my camillus 72 clone family. A Hammer Brand Swell Center three blade whittler. It has the Hammer Brand USA tang stamp circa 1945-55. Brown composite handles with the plain oval shield. The handles have shrinky dink syndrome with some shrinkage due to age. The blades are tight, Secondary Clip and Coping blade have great snap, the Main Clip blade has weak snap. The blades have some scratches and some spotting but overall full and great shape. This is my second Hammer Brand swell center whittler and is in considerably better shape than the first one I had. Here are some photos, all I've done is oil the joints.

I liked the blue. The thumb-stud is difficult for me to work but it will just disappear into one of the folders so no biggie.
Sellers picture. Too late in the day to take pictures.

Papa Bones you did good. I especial like the Hammer Brand tang stamp. I know I have at least one but I don't think as clean as yours. Excellent pick up.Papa Bones wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 9:57 pm This one came in the Mail Box today. another addition to my camillus 72 clone family. A Hammer Brand Swell Center three blade whittler. Jerry, what’s your opinion of this knife? I’ve been curious about Ruike for some time and wondered if they made quality pieces or not?jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 10:52 pm This Ruike P865-Q came today. Don't ask me why I bought it. Cool blade I guess. And yes, it's out of China.

Edit: Have some great sunlight coming in the window this morning so I managed to get the pictures taken. No country of origin marked on the knife but I think we all know where it came from.

Beauty, Railsplitter!
It's fine. Seems to be well built and if I could get past that poorly located thumb stud I would say the operation is smooth and easy. I would prefer to have a nail nick as opposed to the thumb stud. That may be just me because I have issues with all thumb studs. I don't think it's worth $35 but again maybe the thumb stud has soured me on it. Very sharp out of the box and I think I bought it just for the blade profile. Meah. Mixed feelings. I won't give it away but I won't buy another either.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:25 pmJerry, what’s your opinion of this knife?
