Mark, it was exactly your point which drew me to Bulldogs. Virtually all my stags were made as you-and I-like. Your H&R is lovely. I think my BDs are not too shabby either. Photos 1 and 2 are different knives with the stag matched on both sides.

Apologies. I erred in showing these BDs here as they are not new pick ups. Was trying to reinforce Marks point.

Sharpnshinyknives wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 7:26 pm I waited for this one for 10 days before the auction was over. It’s easy to forget about a knife in that much time. But I couldn’t stop thinking about this Hen and Rooster when I saw it. I was determined to make it mine so I ended up paying a pretty penny for this, too much to even think of reselling it.
The stag on this one is just over the top gorgeous. I love this old way of making knives where they take the excess off of the back of the stag instead of hafting it away on the front. Sowbelly Cuttin Horse is my favorite pattern to collect. Pinched and lined bolsters and amazing stag just hit all my buttons.

Congrats big time, that is the kind. Fabulous antlers and condition. Nothing like scoring a real wanted piece when you never know who you are bidding against. Glad you snagged it and love seeing beauties like that. Keep 'em coming.

I agree that these H&R Stag Sowbelly Stockmans are hard to beat. I was considering bidding but as I have a few already, I didn't bid. Glad to see another AAPK member got it. Enjoy the knife, it is a prize. ::groove::

Not as pretty as that fabulous stag just posted by QS but something I had my eye out for. A WW 2, 1st and 2nd generation U. S. MARINE CORPS, designated as KNIFE, POCKET GENERAL PURPOSE knife. The first generation Marine Corps knife had the screw driver paired with the master blade. After the first generation it was the same configuration as the Army knife. More pic's in the Mil-K, Utility knife thread.

It came today. Fast service by the seller and the USPS. It's a 2020 Case 6207 Mini-Trapper with Fire In The Box Corelon handles. I'm thrilled with it.

I've been looking at them for several months and finally pulled the trigger. Very pleased with it. Deadwood Knives gave me excellent service. I'm very pleased with them.

Received my copy today, just breezed thru it . Best 18.95 to the door ever spent!
Recommend by Doglegg, Thank you Floyd ::handshake:: .
Got it from old pocketknives.com other places wanted 39.95 up to 199. 99 . The Book looks to be just full of info, beautiful pics, etc, etc . Goes well with this direction of Cutlery, which is not only just nice Cutlery but has been there to be used by the Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, etc. of our Countries.
For me and some others here this book is a must, now that I compare what I thought was a decent little Collection of these, have a long way to go . But for now ,will enjoy the journey. ::tu::
