Re: Outdoorsman Thread
Here are a couple of pics from a trailcam at the corner of our woods. It was a few days ago on a rainy morn, so not good quality. I showed a Turkey pic last week in the ornithology thread, not sure how many people check out that particular thread, so posting these here. This is the time of year for large flocks.

Re: Outdoorsman Thread
I've read that winter rafters or flocks can number around 400 birds, I've seen flocks in my back field( which is 13 acres) that number well over a hundred birds.
There is large creek bottom about a mile and a half from my house. I was driving home from the trash dump a couple of years ago and as I crested the hill I look down into the bottom land and there one heck of a bunch of turkeys. I'd estimate a couple of thousand at least.

Goodness that’s big! I sure am thankful we don’t have gators here. There ain’t a selfish bone in my body. I’m more than glad to let y’all have every one of them.

Re: Outdoorsman Thread
Been a very knice winter for ys this year with cooler temps in all.
Made my way off an "off-trail" a couple days ago and stumbled onto this clearing in the middle
of some pines. I spent the day processing wood (removing limbs from downed pines) in order to
make a little shelter.
Yesterday it was cool and raining and the idea to use a tarp until I finished the lean-to struck me. I stayed
for a few minutes after making this little escape.
First pic shows before the tarp with cross sticks disclosed.
