I picked up this Sabre electricians knife at our local flea market for a few bucks over the weekend. Very good condition and usable. I had not seen a Sabre electricians knife before this one. Tang stamp is Sabre Japan 535, it has the locking screwdriver blade as most electricians knives do, and is 3 3/4" overall closed length.

I once had an identical Electrician's knife which was marked "Monarch". I believe that Sabre and Monarch were affiliated.
I modded it into a Barlow and gifted it to a friend. It hsd some good steel, and snapped lije a bear trap!

I picked up this nice Sabre Barlow at our local fleamarket this weekend for an Abe. Does not look like it has been used. This one does not have a pattern number stamped on it, maybe the Barlows didn't. This one has bone handles, brass liners, and steel bolsters.

I have this Sabre 603 jack that I think might actually be in a Remington or Winchester frame. The pivot pin has definitely been monkeyed with. I haven't seen any Sabre pocket knives with jigged bone like this or this color. The snap is excellent, pretty full blade that fills the well. The blade/spring depth is slightly off. It was in the Rusty Rooster Antique Mall $4 box.

That is a sweet one, too, Jerry .. I have several Sabre Japan barlows and they are well put together knives. . They take a razor edge and hold it well..

I have a handful. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of the right pattern (medium jack) for the right price.

Your Monarch Hunter is missing the shield too. Herb added a shield to mine, and I'm really pleased with the end result.

Picked this up with a Camillus Scoutie in a bag for $3. Didn't really want it but when I got it home and cleaned it up ,it's not a bad piece. Big knife, 6" closed, heavy brass like a Buck 110, decent wood and well made. Nice grinds. I'm not a fan of Asian knives but I have to admit this one "ain't bad". Shaving sharp. Far superior to any Pakistani copy. The shield is on the pile side , strange?

G-96 knives were sold by Jet-Aer Corp. of Paterson NJ and I believe all were made in Japan.I have a bunch of them and they are great knives.

All of my Sabre Japan barlows take and hold a razor sharp edge. I'm of the opinion that they are made from fine steel, whatever composition it might be.
