I finally received my Case Mini-Trapper with the Second Cut Autumn Bone. I actually feel the pile side has more color variation than the front. But I still like it. Newsflash.....Please disregard the Name Craftsman. Someone didn't correct his mistake before posting the photo. It should say Case XX 6207 Not to mention I posted this in the wrong thread. O.K. I Corrected the photo at least.

I also got a couple of new additions to my Camillus 72 Clone family. These were in really dirty shape, but still had blade snap. Both required a good cleaning, oiling, and a little polishing. I will post more about them in the Camillus 72 Clone Thread.

Did it again! Had to have this one because..., (see what I can come up with)

But seriously, I had to have it because it reminds me of my dad. KS stands for Kelly Springfield. My father used to work at one of their factories in Cumberland, Maryland. He worked there for about 10 years. When they closed the factory, we moved to FL. He was always proud of having worked there. I guess it was the best job he ever had. I know he always talked posative about his time there. I also have a KS Tire ashtray that was one of my dad's prised possessions.

I remember that sometimes when he worked the night shift at KS, I would go with him to work on friday nights. He would go to work & I would sleep in his truck. Then on saturday morning, we would go to the flea market where he would sell stuff and I would roam around the flea market / livestock market all day. Then he would let me get something small like some marbles, a match box car, an old coin or maybe even a chicken. Good memories are getting my eyes wet.

Anyways, it's 76mm long. When I get it and we are no longer on lock down, I will have it engraved with his initials and dates ( R.E.D. 1947 - 2016 ) or something like that & then add it to my EDC's. I'm happy that I got it. I almost let it go but I would have kicked myself for a long time if I had passed it up.

Sure, as soon as I get it done. Right now, every place where I could get it engraved is closed due to lock down. And shall stay closed til at least mid-Feb.

Dave at Nordic knives put this one in the mail for me today, been looking at it for a week. Forged San Mai by Shoshui Takeda with a Super Blue core and handled by Moriya, Mammoth ivory and micarta. I have wanted a Takeda for some time and waited too long on one last year that had gorgeous blue mammoth.

Usually about $20-30; sometimes even more if the watch brand advertised is a high-end brand. I've seen Rolex and Breitling versions double that.

And, I just learned Bergeron has a branded version of the current Victorinox watch case opener knife (which has plastic handles) for $30 new. I think I'll eventually buy that one if I can't trade the Rodania knife for an Alox-handle one.

Condor Moonshiner. I wanted a blade that was a chopper, fairly thick, long enough to be decent as a machete; thick enough to be a good chopper, but still short enough to be a knife. And with a less pointy blade than a Kabar. And mostly to see use in the woods. Found the recently discontinued Condor Moonshiner for less than $50, and decided to try it (MSRP is $80). It has a 9" 1075 carbon steel that is 3/16 thick. I almost went with the (also heavily discounted) Kabar Pestilence Chopper for about the same price, but was turned off by all the Zombie stuff and the flimy looking Chinese-made sheath. Condors are made in El Salvador (by Imacasa--Condor is actually just a brand for their more upscale offerings, a little known fact); not the USA. But, better than China or Pakistan.

I have a couple of Camillus 716, one Yello-Jacket and a Western branded, but have been occasionally watching for one of the genuine stag versions. Most I've seen were priced way out of my reach but I got lucky a little bit ago and picked this one up off the bay for a reasonable price. These are the sellers pics and I am anxious to get it in hand and see the rest of what appears to be great pile side stag.

Herder's main dealers here in the States are both small individual dealers; one in HI who sells on Amazon and eBay; and then another in GA who sells here and on eBay. I had been watching several listings from both, and then this one from the guy in HI caught my eye. It's a lockback Sodbuster, but the blade is a kinda sheepsfoot profile instead of the skinner tip most Sodbusters feature. MSRP is $75, I was able to get this one at auction for $28; as a second. He didn't specify what was wrong with it. This will be my first Herder. The only problem is the mail. This is the furthest from me ANY item I have purchased has been since COVID started. I'm expecting it to take some time.

Not necessarily. ~Q~ sent that coffee to me and it got from Hawaii to Illinois in about 4 days. I thought that was pretty quick. Mail seems to go between here and Hawaii fairly quickly.
