How do you fix a proud sitting blade on a switchblade?

I don't know. It might not even be feasible. I was intending to take it apart to find out, but with the other comments I may not. I was under the impression that this knife had little value due to mass numbers of them being made in years past.
I will research it before I do anything.

Old Weidmannsheil knives are very collectible.
Springer knives are very collectible especially with stag handles.
If the blade sat properly this could be a $150-$200 knife. (my guess, i don't collect these)

Awesome looking 07 "Q"

I came across this old Springer knife the other day for $28. I bought it because I loved the gnarly stag on it, plus the knife is a little beaten up and I felt sorry for it.
The tang stamp says "Weidmannsheil" and has the picture of an elk. After some cleaning and some Latamas Quick Release oil it opens great. (In the store it was so stiff that I didn't realize that it was a switchblade!)
I plan to sand out the dings in the rear bolster, straighten the blade, and see if I can fix how it sits proud when closed. I probably paid more then it is worth, but then again a switchblade does impress non-knife people!

Received this in the mail today, Shoshui Takeda forged san mai, Aogami Super Blue core with stainless sides. Moriya did the handle wrap in tapered aluminum,(which is similar to a frame handle construction) with bark mammoth and micarta. It has good heft to it and I am very pleased. Well made sheath that holds the knife securely. I sharpened it on a 4k Shapton and a handle wipe down with mineral oil, ready for action.

Nice Tom. Love the John Deere knives.

I got this one in yesterday. Made by Seki Cut in Seki Japan for an Encounter event. Designed by Bob Lum before he passed away. This is one rock solid knife. D2 tool steel blade is razor sharp. The handle covers are G10 I believe. Measures 5 inches closed, so it’s pretty big in hand. More photos’ in the “Other Seki Made” thread.

Got this little Sodbuster style in the mail today from one of our AAPK member stores.
It's a tight open and close with a very good snap. Everything is perfectly smooth and
flush. A very good size for the pocket, so this may become one of my favorite EDC's.

Newest Jeffinn came today and couldn't be happier. Gorgeous bones, the color is amaaaaaaazing. The re-assembly is fabulous, the bones sweet, the tight stout lock up, the beautiful snap and action, and the slim in the pocket compared to the 8OTs I have. Jeffinn's taking it to a whole new level of excellent craftsmanship and taste, and quality work. Absolute beauty and totally underpriced. Don't know how he does it, but he's making the Schrades even better than they were. Can't thank him enough either so I put it in a couple of threads to get him some more exposure. If you haven't checked out his store or scored one of bis beauties, well all I can say is you won't regret it. Best looking Schrades around and the price is riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Thanks Jeff, hat's off to you again. I love this baby. You da man.

I received this one in the mail today. Another addition to my Camillus 72 Family. It is a Camillus 72 Yellow Jacket, with Yellow Delrin Handles, and Yellow Jacket etch on the main clip blade. It has the double line Camillus Tang Stamp with the Double Line Camillus Shield. The blades are like new, no wobble, smooth opening with excellent snap on all blades and have not been put on a stone. All blades have the original luster. It has some light scratches on the bolsters, and the blade wells are clean.

This is my second 72 Yellow Jacket, but is in considerable better shape than my first one and has a more graphic blade etch.

Today, I received a VERY nice surprise in the mailbox. I don't know who my "Gifter" is, but I am truly appreciative of what I received. A very nice Krusius Brothers equal end (?) knife in most excellent condition...great half-stops and snap both ways. I don't know anything about this brand, other than what I've read about here at AAPK. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that 'someone' gave thought to me and chose to send me, not only a sweet little knife, but a beautiful challenge coin too. (FBI / Saint Michael, Patron Saint of Law Enforcement) This is most AWESOME! It will go into my collection of challenge coins.

I'll leave it up to them if they so choose to reveal themselves. Either way, I am humbled by the Friendship, and receipt of such nice mementos. They will be treasured...always. Thank You, Sir.

PS: I was also pleasantly intrigued by the additional items that were enclosed, albeit, I have much naiveness and ignorance.

maybe they were lavender sachets harvested and crafted just for the lady of the house?

Eventually, I had to have a knife designed by Ichiro Hattori. No doubt I may have already had some of his work but it would have been done under other brand names. It is a bit of a challenge to find a brand offering a high end production model that was not produced by Hattori: Fallkniven, SOG, Cold Steel, Al Mar, AG Russell, and the list goes on and on.

This 4" bladed knife carries black linen micarta scales with nickel silver guard and steel pins and laynard hole.

The knife is weighted toward the handle which provides maximum control for precision work. I'm thinking of a hunter skinning or preparing game. I can't imagine a better knife for such a task. Offhand I can only think of one other of my knives that has the kind of sharpness provided by this Hattori. That is a knife by Phil Hartsfield who enjoyed an enormous reputation in Japan because his American made swords won so many cutting contests.

Here is one of the finer production knives I have personally handled.
