Kings Mtn....?

Hi folks...

I am trying to find some info on this knife for a friend. It looks to be stamped "Kings Mtn".
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Tim, I've never seen that stamp before. That said it is unusual to see a 1 blade jack on this type frame. Is this a 1 blade jack? If so I would guess the knife has lost a spring and blade or 2 along the way. Maybe someone will have an answer on the stamp.

It is a single blade jack.

I thought that i had seen this stamp before but cannot remember where

Hi, I live in kings mtn NC. Been here all my life. They're have never been any cutlery made here. It is a small textile town on the NC/SC border. The only knife that I know of having Kings Mtn on it would be a case lock back with black composite handles. Mr Mike Ledford had the knives made to commemorate the Battle of Kings Mtn in the revolutionary war. Mr Ledford was an avid knife collector. He passed away around 1980. This is where I and a few other boys picked up on knife collecting. The Knife though had the commemoration on the blade. The tang was a case1976 tang stamp. I f I had one I would submit a picture.

Goins lists about 20 stampings containing "King" in the name. A better picture of the stamping on this knife would help.

What I see, could possibly be ( Kings MC) I tried googling it but found no symbol of a cross with a downward arrow associated with kings mc. I have never seen any knives made for any M/C clubs. But with all the other stuff that's been made such as rings and belt buckles it very well could be.

Is there a Kings, Montana?

Also, I'm a bit confused by the anchor or what appears to be an anchor.

I can think of nothing relating an anchor to Kings Mountain, North Carolina.

Here is the closest image I could come to this;a Spanish souvenir knife with a similar mark on one side of the handle and "Remembrance of Santiago" in Spanish on the other side.

I work in Kings Mountain, NC and hit a small flea market near by from time to time. A couple of years ago, I met an older gentleman in his 80s named Charlie (can't remember last name). He collected pocket knives since he was 6 years old. He was selling off some knives to help put his granddaughter through college. He had one of these tang stamped knives and was asking $100. He told me back in the 1950s, a small knife collecting club had a small number of these made. Not sure what manufacturer they used. Since then, I've seen one more, and now this one (that makes 3), so I'm inclined to think they likely did originate from Kings Mountain, NC. Hope this helps.
