Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

They are all CASE XX (2005), 6207 SS, 2 blade, Orange County Choppers, mini trapper pocket knives.
They needed no cleaning as they are in mint condition.
Out of the 14 total, 13 have the storage tins.
Out of the 14 total, 13 are dated 2005 and 1 is dated 2004.
I took some pictures and here they are.

Very recently this pocket knife joined my collection. It is one of my "GRAIL" pocket knives. It is a CASE, single blade pocket knife, with a cap lifter/bottle opener. I haven't decided if I'm going to replace the missing blade guard/spacer in the handle. This particular CASE pocket knife pattern was manufactured by Schrade in the Bridgeport Connecticut plant. I gave it a minor cleaning, took some pictures and here it is. The last picture is from a 1934 catalog and explains the three CASE wire handle/frame patterns. Now to find the other two CASE patterns. Click on a picture to ENLARGE.

Morning Skip, another grail, very nice ,your sure getting some nice, unique pieces lately there Skip. Didn’t even know Case had got into these wire handled knives , do you know any manufacturer numbers or how long Schrade made these for Case?
Thanks for sharing another of your grail pieces ,well done Sir.
Stay safe out there , have a good one.

Down the road from me is a small general hardware store that is family owned and not part of a chain, which is uncommon now-a-days. The owner and his son usually order a few knives to keep in their display. I don't know who they order from, but they're mostly Case and usually have some good deals. I went by there to pick up some silicone sealant & some painters tape, and while there thought I would check out his knives on hand.

Walked out the door with this one. A New in Box, 2019 Case 130th Anniversary CXXX 62009-1/2 Barlow in the Golden Antique Bone. It has the Bomb shield with CXCASEXX stamping & Case CXXX tang stamp. The color of the Bone Got to me. Had to have it. Plus... out the door price was $48.

Nice! You rarely see knives at hardware stores here in my area; and even if you do, they're usually something super-cheap. Farm Bureau (a tiny chain, of about 4-5 stores if I recall) recently dropped Case for Chinese Schrades and True Utility (which are crap). Our local building supply/Ace (who doesn't really carry as much as Ace stores do; focusing on building supply) doesn't have a knife display (and I haven't really browsed the store good enough to see if they had them someplace else--but I've started going there instead of Lowe's), but our local State Electric does have some Klein knives in the tool display behind the counter.

I know what you mean Cody. Our Ace Hardware Stores used to carry knives, but not anymore. Around my area, about the only stores with any name brand knives are a few of the Shooting Sports stores, and Tractor Supply.
