Very nice knife, I kinda collect those old KA-BAR knives and this one is definetely real early. I would say definetely in the 1920's. My reasons are, this knife has the earliest known KA-BAR shield with the puffy letters, secondly the old bone handles and the union cutlery on the secondary blade is in short form. I could not tell from the pics but most of the time the earliest KA-BAR knives that I have owned featured silver liners instead of brass ::nod:: ::tu:: . Hope this helps--I will post a few pics of mine to compare if would like?

Hi, First thank you for the answer second yes I would like to see the photos. The liners appear to be brass. The attached photo should show. I have an old bare headed jack somewhere, when I locate it I will photo it also.

Thanks. I was wondering the same thing. That stamping of U C Co. is definetely unusual and probably quite rare. Maybe they shortened the name because of the small blade is so small it would have been hard to read the longer version. None of my books refer that particular stamp.

Hi:
Here is the old Bare Head I was talking about. The blades are of no consequence other than they bare pretty much the same stamp as yours.
