My favorite EDC is a SFO Maserin. Sodbuster type pattern. SS liners, micarta handles and D2 blade.
"The Edge...There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
I've been carrying this for a few weeks now and really love it. Very rarely do I find myself wishing I had a second or different blade on my pocketknife to complete a task, so I’m a fan of single blade knives, especially big ones. This big serpentine jack arrived recently, and I have been pleased with it. First, at over 5 inches closed it’s a big handful of a knife which my tired old hands appreciate, and at a bit over 5 ounces I don’t forget it’s in my pocket. The bone handles are dark and beautifully done with recognizable Germanic precision. You don’t see many jack pattern knives this big; but the overall smooth shape makes it great in the pocket and the blade pivot is sunk with no sharp corner to tear up the lining of your pocket. I like that on a knife and it’s a fault on many others. I like big clip blades too and this one has got it. A nice full shape and a long pull which is a good thing on this knife as the backspring is pretty stout and my fingernails aren’t what they used to be. I’m not a fan of gold embellishment, nor a Kentuckian but I can overlook both on this big guy. The gold is starting to wear and will soon be gone leaving the etching which I’m fine with. This knife is from a set sold in the 70s if I understand correctly, made in Germany as a faint etch on the blade shows. The blade snaps like a trap but does show some spiderwebs and spots. The back side of the blade looks to have been polished somewhere in its life. The 128 may be the serial number of the set it was once part of.
On the downside, overall the knife could have used a bit more care in construction. The bolster ends don’t look quite finished, the back spring doesn’t fit the best, and the blade doesn’t sit centered. Some of the pins could have been done better too. Blade pivot pins have a lot of contrast with the bolster metal as well for some reason. Too bad, a little more finishing time would have produced a gem. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a beauty and really like it. Something different in a big single blade than a folding hunter or Barlow and was a bargain too.

That patch and red coat reminded me of my uncle. He was a member of the Machias Valley Sportsmen's Club back in the 60s and 70s. He did a lot of hunting and fishing back then. Their patch looked similar, and he had it sewn onto the same red coat.garddogg56 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:55 pm These Bucks went in the woods, camp hunting, fleamarting and ice fishing this weekend .four dot and it's half #055::super_happy::

Johnson sold a lo of these wool jackets, before mandatory orange, red and black pattern were the norm around these parts. If ya saw a green and black pattern most likely the hunters were from Vermont

David, putting those two in your pocket seems a wise decision. Lovely and I especially like the cattle knife.
ww is Quick Steel rubbing off on you. Next thing you know "Desk Knives" will be the new fad. And by the way, wonderful knife.
