id knife
i have a pocket knife that i got from my dad. cant find the number on the id section. it is marked cattaugus. number is 322090c. i know the knife is over 50 years old as he had it when i was a kid back in the fifties. any help would be appreciated

I believe the marking is CATTARAUGUS (RA in the middle). Is it 3 5/8" long when closed?
The pattern # you described SOUNDS like a 3 bladed, bone handled, Cattle Knife. The 0c doesn't show in anything I could find. However, if it's not bone, then the 0c could possibly be OP.....if it has Opal Pearl scales.
The original Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was in business until 1963. The name was revived by A.G. Russell in 1984 for very limited REPRODUCTIONS.
I'll bet Bryan or pa knives can add to this.

I beleive that El Lobo has given accurate information, but without a photo we can't go much further. Guys like us thrive on this sort of thing
Depending on the condition, which is things like blade wear, handle condtion, and overall quality, the piece will no doubt have some value, but the real value is the fact that your father owned this knife and now you do. Get some mineral oil and gentle clean the knife. Put it away so that your son might be able to hold something once belonged to his grandfather and no doubt was a cherished tool. I have a prized CAT that belonged to my wifes grandfather and it is beautiful in its used condition. If you click on "how do I add a picture" on the lower right hand side of the box that comes up when you reply to a message, it will guide you through the process. Bryan has done a great job of making things easy for those of us that are somewhat slower on computers. Welcome to the forum.
