sleeveboard vs.

Post by tongueriver »

What is the difference between a 'regular' or swelled-end jack and a sleeveboard jack? I know that there is a difference, but I can't quite pin it down.

A swell end jack will have square corners on the blade end. A sleeve board jack will have rounded corners on both ends and sometimes the blades will be hinged at the large end whereas swell ends will not. That is how BRL defines them.

Also a Sleeveboard will have an even taper between the 2 ends. A regular jack has more of a 'swelling out' of the wider end, not evenly tapered.
