Miller & Son's Old Knife

Can anyone help me figure out what year of knife this might be and how much it might be worth? As you can see, one of the blades is broken. I can definitely see the Miller and Sons stamp on both blades. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums! The stamp actually says,"Miller Bros." and they were made in Meriden CT.from about 1872to 1926.The characteristic of many Miller Bros. knives was the small screws used to hold the handles on. The handles are bone and the pattern is commonly referred to as a,"sleeveboard jack" in reference to the shape of an old ironing board for ironing shirt sleeves.
As with everything condition is the great determining factor and sadly with a broken blade the value would be minimal.Even if you were able to find replacement blades(the pen blade is quite worn)and have it fixed,it would likely cost more than the knife is worth.Some people like having knives such as this and try to envision what the knife may have seen in it's travels(myself included)so my advice would be to keep it as is and enjoy it.

Wonderful knife, wonder how many chaws of tobacco it might of cut or how many apples it peeled or how many splinters it dug out of a finger. The list goes on and on, just hold it now and then and think this belong to my great grandpa, wow the stories it must have been a part of. x10. to AAPK.
