What ever critter left the deposit on the road had been eating Gall Berries. Scat changes with diet. I would venture that it was most likely left by a coon but possibly a deer. No hair or bone showing in the picture will almost eliminate a carnivore, bobcat, bear, etc. Always interesting to wonder at the different sign left in the woods.
