Just received yesterday is this Case Saddle Horn Trapper. This is a pretty big knife at 4 1/2". Smooth bone covers in a chestnut color. Good F&F and W&T. Half stops. One of our Case experts can correct me, but I think this pattern has been out of production for a while.
I had this pattern maybe 17 years ago. I carried it in a sheath because of its size and weight.

That's a fine looking knife, Garry.

It's odd that you should bring this one up. Lately, I find myself cruisin' the Saddlehorn Trappers with lust in my eyes. I have a "small" one (3½" closed) but the pattern has started to take root and I find myself giving serious consideration to more.

Impressive knife QS and good looking too. I had one of the smaller ones that I gifted to a friend. It wasn't near that pretty. Mine was the size of the one Jerry has but in bone stag. Great pick up. ::nod::

Thank you Jerry and doglegg. The one I formerly had used black covers. I can't recall the material used, maybe micarta.

Have to make a correction to my entry. The covers are bone done in a chestnut color. Not wood. The seller, Sharpnshinyknives (Mark) was able to furnish the correct info for me.

Nice QS. The pictures just don’t do that knife justice. It’s a great looking knife in hand.
Those smaller Saddlehorns are great knives Jerry.
The shape and the blades on a Saddlehorn, whether small or large, make them a favorite of mine.

I was taken aback when I realized that it is huge, 5-1/4" closed. I found it on the bay without much in its description and I made an offer thinking it was a regular-sized trapper around 4".

Case black Delrin-handled hunters fixed blade knife made in 1980. Ordered from the AAPK Stores, came in the mail while we were in Georgia for Thanksgiving. Opened it this morning and took a picture - 5" skinning and butchering blade for big game - 'bout like new. OH

The pearl on that one LA is very nice.
I got in another Robeson by Queen. Waited awhile for this one to get here, but it was worth it. The jigging looks like scales from a fish or lizard, gives this an amazing look to it. 2 Blade Barlow, only 200 made. I think Smokey Mountain Knife Works had these made in the late 90’s or early 2000’s.

Sweet pick ups, my fellow knife junkies!😁
I just pulled this out of the mailbox today..Schrade Walden pipe knife.. it has alligator snap and zero side play..I'm thinking about gifting it to my neighbor for Christmas who smokes a pipe.. maybe not..I might find him a different one, I really like this one... it's got good weight to it for it's size-3 1/8" closed..

John what an eclectic mix of knives. Very nice.

I got in another Cattaraugus knife made in Japan for A.G. Russell. An Excelsior grade small lockback barlow. Measures just 2 1/2” closed OAL.
